Borderland Identities
Territory and Belonging in Central, North and East Europe

Hurd, Madeleine
2006
Borderland Identities is a book about people living close to borders. Historians, ethnographers, economists, folklorists and cultural geographers examine identities in a number of different national borderlands, and among those who cross borders. Their studies extend and challenge our understanding of identity formation by drawing attention to the often marginalised, ambigous or polarised identities of borderland belonging.
