In 2024, the 8 Nordic countries had a combined import value of around 464 billion euro, and a combined export value of 540 billion. Intra-Nordic trade is substantial, it amounts to a fifth of all imports and exports, but the largest market is Europe with over half of all Nordic foreign trade. Release
The Nordic Statistics Database has been updated today. Some examples of what has been added:
In 2023, shares of renewables in the gross final energy consumption varied between 19,1 percent in Greenland and 79,5 percent in Iceland. The five largest countries in the Nordic region had values from 44.4 percent and up, meaning that they all met the EU's 2030 renewable energy target of 42.5 percent. All Nordic countries show increases in share of renewables in the past 20 years, with Denmark in the lead having tripled theirs.

The Nordic Statistics database

Nordic Statistics is a collection of comparative Nordic statistics which has existed and been funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers since the mid-1960s. The Nordic Statistics database contains about two hundred matrices.

The data is gathered from the Nordic Statistical Institutes (NSIs), the Nomesco-Nososco committees, other Nordic statistics producers as well as international sources such as Eurostat, OECD and the UN. For more details read here.
